- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla until combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated.
- Fold in the diced apples and nuts (if using).
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm with caramel sauce or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
