Description
Delightful molten lava cakes with a rich, gooey chocolate center, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins generously with butter and dust them lightly with flour.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and bittersweet chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth and melted.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until pale and frothy. Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously. Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until edges are firm but center is still soft. Let cool for one minute, then invert onto plates, dust with powdered sugar, and serve immediately with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
Do not overbake to ensure a gooey center. Use good quality chocolate for the best flavor.
