- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and prepare your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and stir to combine.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt until just combined.
- Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface and cut out shapes.
- Place cut-out cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack before serving.
