Description

A delightful flatbread made with mashed potatoes and whole wheat flour, perfect as a side or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Ghee or oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the whole wheat flour with water to form a smooth dough. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion (if using), green chilies, cumin seeds, garam masala, turmeric powder, coriander, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Divide the dough and potato filling into equal portions. Roll out one portion of dough into a small circle, place a portion of the potato filling in the center, and fold the edges over to seal.
  4. Roll the stuffed dough into a circle again. Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat and cook the rolled flatbread with ghee or oil until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve the Potato Flatbread hot with yogurt or pickles.

Notes

Make sure potatoes are well-mashed for a smooth filling. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
