Description
A delightful flatbread made with mashed potatoes and whole wheat flour, perfect as a side or snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 3 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 onion, finely chopped (optional)
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Water, as needed
- Ghee or oil, for cooking
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the whole wheat flour with water to form a smooth dough. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion (if using), green chilies, cumin seeds, garam masala, turmeric powder, coriander, and salt. Mix well.
- Divide the dough and potato filling into equal portions. Roll out one portion of dough into a small circle, place a portion of the potato filling in the center, and fold the edges over to seal.
- Roll the stuffed dough into a circle again. Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat and cook the rolled flatbread with ghee or oil until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve the Potato Flatbread hot with yogurt or pickles.
Notes
Make sure potatoes are well-mashed for a smooth filling. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
