- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes until it begins to set. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the hot crust. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the filling is set and lightly golden. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
These bars can be enjoyed warm or chilled. Pair with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
