Description
These indulgent bars perfectly balance sweet and salty, featuring a crunchy pretzel crust and gooey caramel center.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups pretzel sticks
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the pretzel sticks and melted butter, mixing well until the pretzels are evenly coated. Firmly press this mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar and sweetened condensed milk over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture comes to a boil. Cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly, then pour it over the pretzel crust.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel layer, drizzle caramel sauce on top, and sprinkle sea salt. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar. Experiment with different types of chocolate for a fun twist.
