Ingredients

- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Burger buns
- Toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until smooth but still a bit chunky.
- Add the cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the mashed beans. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into patties, about ½ inch thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the cooked patties on burger buns and add your favorite toppings.
Notes
If the mixture feels too wet, add more breadcrumbs until it holds together. Experiment with spices to enhance flavor.
