Description

Delightful homemade chicken nuggets with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, perfect for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one filled with flour, one with beaten eggs, and another with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Dip each chicken piece first in the flour, ensuring it’s fully coated, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat it in the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  4. Carefully place the coated chicken nuggets into the hot oil, frying in batches until they turn golden brown, which takes about 5-7 minutes. Ensure not to overcrowd the pot.
  5. Remove the nuggets with a slotted spoon and allow them to drain on paper towels.

Notes

For extra crispiness, use Panko breadcrumbs. They can also be made in an air fryer for a lighter option.
