Description
Delightful homemade chicken nuggets with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, perfect for kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat your oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: one filled with flour, one with beaten eggs, and another with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Dip each chicken piece first in the flour, ensuring it’s fully coated, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat it in the seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Carefully place the coated chicken nuggets into the hot oil, frying in batches until they turn golden brown, which takes about 5-7 minutes. Ensure not to overcrowd the pot.
- Remove the nuggets with a slotted spoon and allow them to drain on paper towels.
Notes
For extra crispiness, use Panko breadcrumbs. They can also be made in an air fryer for a lighter option.
