A delicious and guilt-free dessert, this Protein Lava Cake is packed with protein and features a gooey chocolate center, perfect for celebrating Dad on Father’s Day.

- 1 cup protein powder
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Dark chocolate or chocolate chips for filling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your ramekins to prevent the cake from sticking.
- Combine the protein powder, almond flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder in a mixing bowl and whisk until evenly blended.
- Whisk together the unsweetened applesauce, almond milk, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir gently until well combined without over-mixing.
- Divide half of the batter evenly into each greased ramekin and place dark chocolate or chocolate chips in the center, then top with the remaining batter.
- Bake the lava cakes in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
- Let the cakes cool for a minute before carefully inverting onto a plate and enjoy the warm, molten chocolate interior!
Notes
Serve warm with fresh berries or a scoop of protein-rich Greek yogurt. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
