Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs Salmon fillets, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 3 tablespoons Hot honey (or honey mixed with 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes)
- Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Start by removing the skin from your salmon fillets if you haven’t already. Use a sharp knife to cut the salmon into uniform 1-inch cubes. Pat the cubes thoroughly dry with a paper towel; removing excess moisture is the most important step for achieving a truly crispy texture.
- In a large bowl, toss the salmon cubes with olive oil until lightly coated. In a small separate bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the salmon and toss gently until every piece is evenly coated.
- You can use an air fryer or a skillet. If using an air fryer, place the bites in a single layer at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through. If using a skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat and sear the salmon for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Once the salmon is cooked and crispy, remove it from the heat. While still hot, drizzle the hot honey over the salmon bites. Toss gently so the honey thins out from the heat and creates a glossy, spicy glaze over every piece. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
