Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup M&M’s or any other mix-ins (like dried cranberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy, then beat in the eggs one at a time.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Gently stir in the chocolate chips, nuts, oats, and M&M’s or any other mix-ins.
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space in between.
  6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden, then cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
