- 1 sleeve Saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a boil, then let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the toffee mixture evenly over the Saltine crackers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-6 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Remove the baking sheet, sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee, let melt, and spread evenly. Add nuts if desired. Cool completely and break into pieces.
