- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed mixture until just mixed.
- Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, try browning the butter before mixing it with the sugars. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
