Description

A classic Chinese dish featuring tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and chewy lo mein noodles in a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (such as bell peppers, carrots, and broccoli)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the mixed vegetables, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Pour this sauce over the chicken and vegetable mixture. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add the cooked lo mein noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are well coated in the sauce.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with green onions.

Notes

Best served immediately. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
