Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Lean Ground Beef (80/20 or 90/10)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 4 cups Romaine Lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1/2 cup Dill Pickle slices or diced pickles
- 1/4 cup Red Onion, finely diced
- 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds (for garnish)
- For the Special Sauce:
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Sugar-free Dill Relish
- 1 tbsp Yellow Mustard
- 1 tsp White Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
Instructions
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small crumbles with a spatula. Season the meat with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Once fully cooked, drain any excess grease from the pan and set the meat aside to cool slightly.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sugar-free dill relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Whisk until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. For the best flavor, let it sit in the fridge for a few minutes while you prep the veggies.
- Wash and thoroughly dry the romaine lettuce. Chop it into bite-sized pieces. Dice the red onion finely and slice your pickles if they aren’t already sliced. Having everything bite-sized ensures you get a little bit of every flavor in every spoonful.
- Divide the chopped romaine lettuce among four large bowls. Top each bowl with a generous portion of the cooked ground beef. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese, diced red onions, and pickles evenly over the beef.
- Drizzle the prepared special sauce over each bowl. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds to give it that authentic “burger bun” touch. Serve immediately while the beef is still warm and the lettuce is crisp.
- Cook Time: 25 minutes
