Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, rinse and drain the black beans thoroughly.
  2. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the black beans to your desired consistency.
  3. Add the salsa, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. Squeeze the lime juice into the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped cilantro.
