Description

A classic comfort food dish that combines tender strips of beef with a rich and creamy mushroom sauce, served over egg noodles or rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove beef from skillet.
  2. Add chopped onion, sliced mushrooms, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until onions are translucent and mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stirring to combine. Gradually pour in beef broth, stirring constantly until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in sour cream until creamy. Return beef to skillet, mix together, and season with salt and pepper. Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.

Notes

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and pair with green vegetables or a simple side salad. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
