Description

A delightful banana cake that’s moist, rich, and easy to bake, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour your cake pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the sour cream.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

For best flavor, ensure your bananas are very ripe. This cake can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for a week.
