Description

These Amazing Crispy Fish Sticks are perfectly crunchy on the outside and tender inside, making them a family favorite for dinners or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups white fish fillets (cod or haddock)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil (for frying or baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Cut the fish fillets into sticks about 1 inch wide.
  3. Create a breading station with one bowl of flour, another with beaten eggs, and a third with panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dredge each fish stick in flour, dip it in the beaten egg, and finally coat it with the panko mixture.
  5. If baking, place the fish sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spray lightly with cooking oil, and bake for 10-12 minutes. If frying, cook in hot oil for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with tartar sauce or lemon wedges.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider double-coating the fish sticks. They pair well with various dipping sauces.
