Description

A healthier twist on a classic comfort food, this Air Fryer Chicken Fried Steak features a crispy exterior with tender, juicy meat, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound cube steak
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In one bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a second bowl, beat the eggs until well mixed. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Coat each piece of cube steak in the flour mixture, then in the beaten egg, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the breaded steaks in a single layer in the basket.
  6. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Serve hot with gravy or sides of your choice.

Notes

Pound the cube steak to an even thickness for uniform cooking. Let the breaded steak rest for a few minutes before cooking for better coating adherence.
