Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups Self-rising flour (sifted)
- 1 cup Heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup Lemonade (standard carbonated lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7-Up)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter to prevent the scones from sticking.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sifted self-rising flour, heavy whipping cream, and lemonade. Use a butter knife or a spatula to gently fold the ingredients together until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the scones tough.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat the dough down with your hands until it is about 1 inch thick. Use a floured round cutter to press out scones, or simply cut the dough into triangles with a sharp knife.
- Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet, keeping them close together if you want soft sides, or further apart for crispier edges. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden brown.
- Remove the scones from the oven and transfer them to a wire rack. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Covering them with a clean tea towel while cooling helps keep the crust soft.
- Cook Time: 25 minutes
